Faculty and Staff
Dr. Charity Zawatski is the Director of Gulf Coast Charter Academy Preschool. She brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including roles as a teacher, instructional coach, and elementary school principal. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Throughout her career, Dr. Zawatski has focused on creating welcoming classrooms where children feel supported, build confidence, and develop a love of learning. Her guiding principle is simple: always put what is best for students first. She looks forward to partnering with Gulf Coast preschool families as their children begin their educational journey.

Outside of school, Dr. Z enjoys reading, spending time at the beach and pool, and being with her family and her Great Dane, Phoebe.

​​Note To Parents Interested in the VPK Program:
Parents who are interested in enrolling their children in the VPK Program are now required to log on to www.elcofswfl.org and complete the online application in addition to the FORZA Child Development Center online application.
Upon completion of the application, parents will be issued a confirmation page with an ID number acknowledging receipt of their application. Parents will need to print 2 copies of the confirmation page (one for the parent and one for ELC). Once the confirmation page has been received, parents can then bring that page along with the child’s birth certificate and valid proof of residency into the office of the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida, and we will then issue the parent their VPK Voucher.
