Enrollment Periods

Gulf Coast Charter Academy South (GCCAS) foresees a strong possibility that there may be a surplus of student applications for some grade levels, higher than the school’s capacity. Therefore, GCCAS will open Enrollment Periods commencing December 1, 2023, and closing on May 31, 2024.  The GCCAS Board of Directors can approve extending the application deadline if seats are still available at the end of the scheduled Enrollment Periods. If the number of applications received are more than seats available, a random lottery will be held.  The date of the Lottery will be published on the school website as well as distributed in mailings to parents of students placed in the Lottery process.  A waiting list of students will then be established after the lottery.

Each student will have an equal opportunity of being selected through the random selection process in accordance with Florida Statute 1002.33, subsection (10), article (b).

Gulf Coast Charter Academy South is permitted to offer enrollment preference to the following student populations:

1. Students who are siblings of a student already enrolled in the charter school.

2. Students who are the children of a member of the Governing Board of the charter school.

3. Students who are the children of an employee at the charter school.
